Clanet&Brito is a cross-disciplinary research/design studio based in Porto, founded by Alice Clanet-Hallard and Edgar Brito. Its activities cover the fields of architecture, art and structures. For each project the studio seeks to articulate design and economy of means, suggesting a delicate but strong balance between ideas and processes, form and structure, context and materials. They were the winners of the first edition of the “Sommer Pavillion” international competition in Cascais, 2018, with a proposal named “Suspended Gravity”.
Alice Clanet is an architect based in Porto and a principal at Clanet&Brito. Graduated from ENSA Paris-Malaquais in 2017, has previously worked at Dominique Perrault Architects, on projects such as the Hippodrome de Longchamp in Paris.
Edgar Brito is a chartered Senior Structural Engineer from FEUP and PhD in architecture candidate at FAUP, where he teaches an experimental course for architects, since 2018.
